at SwingVester, an official World Swing Dance Council (WSDC) Registry Event. Held in the beautiful city of Wels, Austria, from
December 30th, 2026, to January 4th,
2027, this event is designed to transform your New
Year's Eve into a spectacular celebration of dance, community, and growth.
Whether you are stepping onto the dance floor for the first time
or competing at the All-Star level, SwingVester offers a welcoming and inspiring environment for everyone. With 2,000 square meters of premium dance floor across seven rooms at the renowned
Tanzschule Hippmann, you will have plenty of space to learn, compete, and social dance until the early morning hours.
What to Expect at SwingVester
Our event is packed with opportunities to improve your dancing,
connect with friends, and celebrate the start of a new year. Here is a quick overview of what makes SwingVester special:
•5 Nights of Social Parties: Dance the night away with top DJs and an international
community of passionate West Coast Swing dancers.
•World-Class Instructors: Learn from 14 incredible teachers from around the globe,
including champions like Thibault & Nicole Ramirez, Semion & Maria, and many more.
•Extensive Workshops: Enjoy 5 hours of leveled workshops tailored to your
specific needs. Please note that all workshops are taught in German.
•WSDC Competitions: Challenge yourself in over 20 competition divisions,
including Jack & Jill, Strictly, ProAm, and our special Rising Star category.
•Exclusive NYE Dinner: Celebrate New Year's Eve with a delicious, pre-booked
dinner right at the venue, featuring traditional Austrian dishes and vegan options.
Workshop Levels: Find Your Perfect Fit
To ensure you get the most out of your classes, we have
structured our workshops into six distinct levels. Assignments are made on-site at check-in based on your WSDC points or through an audition process.
•Level 2: Perfect for dancers who know the basics and want to improve their technique,
footwork, and musicality.
•Level 3: Designed for social dancers and aspiring competitors looking to refine their
skills for international events. No audition required.
•Level 4: Requires at least 1 WSDC Newcomer point (or
audition).
•Level 5: Requires at least 1 Novice, Sophisticated, or Masters point (or
audition).
•Level 6: Requires at least 1 WSDC Intermediate point (or
audition).
•Advanced & AllStars: Dedicated classes for dancers with at least 1 Advanced
or AllStar point, respectively.
Competitions: Step into the Spotlight
As an official WSDC event, SwingVester hosts a wide variety of
competitions for all skill levels. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or trying it out for the first time, there is a division for you.
Jack & Jill Divisions
Dance with randomly assigned partners to unpredictable music.
Divisions include Newcomer, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, All Star, Sophisticated, Masters, Champions, and Switch. The entry fee is €22 per person, per division.
Strictly & ProAm Divisions
Choose your partner and showcase your connection. We offer
Strictly divisions from Novice to Masters, as well as Switch and Open categories. For those looking to dance with a professional, our ProAm divisions (Novice, Intermediate, Masters) are the
perfect choice.
Rising Star
Showcase your choreographed routines in our Rising Star division,
featuring prize money for the top three couples.
Special Feature: "A Better You"
We believe in giving back to the community while helping you grow
as a dancer. With our "A Better
You" initiative, you can book a 3-minute
private session with one of our advanced teachers for just €5. You will dance one song together and receive quick, personalized feedback.
The best part? 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Lions Club
Klosterneuburg,
supporting local social projects and charitable causes. It is a wonderful way to improve your dancing while making a positive impact.
